As a result of the decoding of the human genome, the genetic basis of many hereditary diseases has been revealed, and many diagnostic tests have been developed over the past several years.<\/p>\n

Genetic mutations are responsible for a significant percentage of all human diseases, both in children and adults.<\/p>\n

Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) is the chromosomal or genetic analysis of several embryonic cells. These are obtained by a (microscopic) embryo biopsy, and allows for the detection of genetic anomalies or diseases.<\/p>\n<\/div>
